Mobile Women's Health Service

The Mobile Women's Health Service is made up of specially trained registered nurses based throughout Queensland who provide a free and confidential service for Queensland women. The service aims to improve the health and wellbeing of women in rural and remote areas of Queensland.

The Mobile Women's Health Service provides a range of health services for women including:

In some areas an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health worker assists the nurse in meeting the needs of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

The service complements and works with other health services including  local general practitioners, outreach gytnaecology specialists, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and allied health staff.

The service supports all women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

This free and confidential service is available for all women within the areas covered by each Mobile Women's Health Service.

The Mobile Women's Health Service visits over 200 rural and remote communities in Queensland and services a 300 - 500km radius from base locations to provide clinics and other services on a regular basis.
